Governance

Everyday workings of the Society are managed by the officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer), and the Society's publications by the chief editors for BASP and the ASP monograph series. Policy decisions and oversight are the responsibility of the Board of Directors, which includes the officers and editors, six Directors-at-Large, and the immediate past President of the Society. The finances of the Society are overseen on a continuing basis by two Financial Trustees, who also serve on the Board. All officers, editors, directors, and trustees serve on a strictly volunteer basis.

​The ASP holds its Annual Meeting for the election of officers and directors, as well as other business, at ASP Annual Meeting each January. Governance structure and bylaws are set out in the ASP Bylaws, which were approved in 2022, replacing the old ASP Constitution, approved initially in 1963.

ASP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
