ASP members receive the annual issue of BASP gratis, and through their dues and involvement help to support the American Studies in Papyrology publication series, the biennial Summer Institutes in Papyrology, the annual ASP panels at the Society for Classical Studies and the Society for Biblical Literature, and the sesquennial North American Papyrological Seminar.

You can renew or create your membership using the quick link button at left. At checkout you will also be given the opportunity to add a membership in the International Association (AIP), which sponsors the triennial international congresses and other papyrological initiatives.

Through the generosity of its members and friends, ASP has raised a substantial amount towards the goal of an Endowment to support the Summer Instiutes in perpetuum, but seeks your help to finish the task. Use the donate quick link if you are willing to contribute.

Memberships are for individuals only. Institutions wanting to subscribe to BASP should contact Peeters Publishers.

Governance

Everyday workings of the Society are managed by the officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer), and the Society's publications by the chief editors for BASP and the ASP monograph series. Policy decisions and oversight are the responsibility of the Board of Directors, which includes the officers and editors, four Directors-at-Large, and the immediate past President of the Society. The finances of the Society are overseen on a continuing basis by two Financial Trustees. All officers, editors, directors, and trustees serve on a strictly volunteer basis.

The ASP holds its Annual Meeting for the election of officers and directors, as well as other business, at the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) Annual Meeting each January. Governance structure and bylaws are set out in the ASP Constitution, which was ratified in 1963, with periodic updates by vote of the ASP members.

ASP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
